A Beard Transplant is the same as Hair Transplant – the only difference is that a former performed on the chin, and the latter on a patient’s head. You can think of it as a procedure that involves moving hair from one area of your body to an area around the chin.

The transplanted hair is usually taken from the patient’s scalp base or underneath their chin. Depending on the amount of beard needed, the amount of hair follicles transplanted is between 4.000 and 7.500.

During this transplantation procedure, every hair follicle is moved one after the other. That shows how lengthy beard transplantation can be. The good news, though, a patient will be taking several breaks in between the procedure.

In the meantime, this will also be part of your preps:

• Abstaining from Aspirin or any blood thinner meds must be done for at least a week before the procedure day.
• Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol 24 hours before and after the surgery.

A beard transplant procedure in Turkey involves five main stages:

• Medical Examination. This is the first stage of the whole process. The medical examination involves various physical and blood tests. If you fail this stage, there won’t be any surgery.
• Local anesthesia. This is necessary. And it is done so that you feel comfortable through the whole procedure. If you Trypanophobia, your surgeon can administer anesthesia without using needles.
• Shaving of the donor area. Suppose your surgeon decides to use the FUE hair transplant, expect your donor site to be shaved down. Hair follicles that are to be transplanted into your chin will be stored and dipped in a special solution so that they remain usable.
• Incision Making. A 0.6 to 1.0 mm advanced micro punch tool is used to make incisions on the bald area of your head. The size of the bald area determines the durability of this process.
• Graft Implantation. The hair grafts are carefully placed in the incisions. This is the longest stage of the whole FUE hair transplant procedure. Thankfully, you will have a few breaks during this process.

People often think all hair transplant procedures (including a beard transplant) have a lengthy recovery process. But that’s not true. With a beard transplant, you only need three days before you get back to your regular routines. Back in the day, it used to be six days, but that has since changed as technological advances have changed the devices used in the procedure.
