Like any other surgery, every patient who is about to have a hair transplant in Turkey has to prepare for it.

Preparation for an Afro Hair Transplant procedure is a necessity as it also plays a vital role in determining the success of the whole process.

Unlike other surgeries, a hair transplant doesn’t demand much preparation; the patient is advised to stop smoking, alcohol, soft drugs, and specific vitamins a week or two before the surgery. This is done to avoid any interference with the healing process.

Depending on the type of hair transplant recommended by your surgeon, the procedure usually takes between 4 and 12 hours.

In most cases, as the surgeon performs the surgery, patients remain awake during the entire process. Surgeons give them local anesthesia to make their scalp numb – and this also makes them so comfortable during the procedure.

The first stage is to examine/test your blood to determine if there is HIV or Hepatitis C in your system. After the examination, the surgeon will discuss with the patient, answer any questions, and define the expectation of the outcome of the whole surgery.

If you are having the FUE transplant, single follicles are removed from the donor area of the scalp with a specialized cutting tool. These individual hair grafts are then inserted into tiny cuts made into the recipient site, where they bed down.

However, with the FUT surgery, instead of taking individual follicles from an area that has sufficient hair growth, your hair transplant surgeon cuts away a strip of them. This strip is then divided into single strands or small groups inserted into the recipient area.

Once all the hair grafts have been transplanted, your scalp will be bandaged, and you will be given instructions for at-home care. Yes, it’s that simple!

Considering that FUE hair transplant is a minimally invasive procedure, the recovery period is short and fast.

Donor Area: Expect the donor area to be wholly healed three days post-surgery. But the re-growing of hair in that same area will be visible after ten days.

Recipient Area: It takes between 3 and 7 days for the recipient area to heal completely.

You can resume your regular workout routine seven days after the surgery.

Compared to clinics in countries like the UK, the US, Canada, and Germany, the cost of having an Afro hair transplant in Turkey is relatively low.
