Op. Born in Çankırı in 1987, he completed his medical degree at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine (graduating with distinction in 2011) and his Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery specialty training at Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul (2013 to 2018), one of Istanbul’s high-volume teaching hospitals. During his residency he performed a wide range of microsurgical, reconstructive, and aesthetic procedures, and contributed to peer-reviewed scientific literature.

Today, Op. Dr. Akgün practises at his own clinic in Şişli, Istanbul.
